Yes. We have conducted extensive research on every PMU artist we work with to make sure they have the highest up to date certifications, best reviews and amazing before/after images. When you book a Microblading or Ombré Brows session on BrowStudios.com, you can be confident that you will look Brow-tiful!

The main difference between Microblading and Ombre Brows is the technique used to create the brow. Microblading uses a handheld device to deposit the pigment under the skin while ombre brows are made using a small machine to carefully place hundreds of extremely small dots of pigment within the skin. Ombre Brows are known to be much less painful than traditional Microblading techniques.

The initial Microblading session can take a couple of hours. The majority of this time will be used in creating the perfect look for you before starting the procedure. Once a look has been chosen, the actual procedure will take between 30 and 60 minutes per brow to complete.

Most of our artists allocate a 3 hour time slot for Ombre Brows. After agreeing to the desired style, the PMU artist will carefully create your ideal brows with many microdots under your skin like a tattoo. It will be necessary for you to lay still and be completely relaxed so that the artist can make the eyebrows look natural and beautiful.

These services can range between $500 and $1,400 depending on the availability, experience and location of the artist.

Most eyebrow artists will not include the follow-up as part of the initial purchase price because several people are satisfied after one session. You are encouraged to confirm this with your chosen Permanent Makeup Artist at your initial consultation. It is always wise to work with a Certified Brow Salon that offers follow up care so that you are happy with the final results of your treatment.

When you go in for the procedure, your permanent makeup artist is going to work with you to create the perfect brow size and shape based on your facial features. They will work with you to come up with the look you desire, and once you have chosen the brows that you like best, the artist will do their best to create a natural and symmetrical look.

Most people who have had Microblading have stated that the discomfort is no greater than that of getting a regular tattoo. Many even report that their artist used a numbing gel which totally eliminated the discomfort. They claimed that all that was felt was the pressure of the instruments on their skin.

If you are worried about experiencing discomfort while having Microblading done, speak with your eyebrow artist and see what steps they take to eliminate or prevent discomfort. Or ask them about Ombre Powder Brows that are similar but much less discomfort.

It would be best if you avoid exercise for a minimum of seven days after having Microblading completed. Sweating can fade the pigment in your eyebrows before they have completely healed. The salt in your sweat may also sting the area before it is healed.

It is always recommended to keep this area as dry as possible for a week after the procedure so that the pigment can settle correctly into your skin.

There are different opinions on if one should get microblading while pregnant.

The first opinion is that if the Permanent Makeup Artist runs a safe and sanitary studio, there should be no problem having your eyebrows done while you are pregnant since you will not undergo anesthesia or take any medications to have the procedure done.

The second opinion is that pregnant women should avoid this service until after they give birth. The risk for infection is higher in pregnant women, and pregnant women have a tendency to bleed more in any kind of procedure.

The safest answer is to speak with your medical care provider so that they can assess the situation based on your specific health and risk factors.

If you have diabetes, it is recommended that you speak with your medical care provider before having any type of eyebrow tattoo completed. It generally takes 7-14 days for eyebrows to completely heal after the procedure, and extended healing periods may not be conducive to people with diabetes.

Most Permanent Makeup Artists will ask if you have diabetes and will require a release from your Medical Care Provider before performing this type of service.

Since Microblading or Ombre treatments are under the skin, it is recommended that you seek medical approval prior to receiving any type of tattoo treatment. The healing time for eyebrow tattoos can be between 7 and 14 days. For someone undergoing chemo or radiation treatments, this extended healing period may not be safe.

Your professional makeup artist will speak to you about this issue and may request medical clearance before providing this service.

Although most cities lifted the mandate requiring masks in establishments, we recommend you to wear a mask during your brow session. When the makeup artist is working on your eyebrows, they will be in very close proximity to your face. It will be beneficial to both of you to have a face covering during the procedure.

Most plastic surgeons agree that you should wait a minimum of two weeks before getting Microblading after you have had a Botox treatment. It generally takes two weeks for the full effects of Botox to set into the skin and for your face to firm.

If you have any questions about this, speak with the professional who provided you with the Botox service. They will be able to give you the best advice based on your personal health.

It is recommended, just like with Microblading, that you wait a minimum of two weeks after a Botox treatment to have an ombre brows treatment. Botox takes about 14 days to reach its peak effects.

Speak with your Health Care Provider if you are concerned about the length of time necessary between these two treatments.

For the best results, you should wait a minimum of four weeks after a chemical peel, facial, or any other skin treatment before having Microblading done on your eyebrows.

It is also essential that you avoid having a chemical peel, facial, or any other skin treatment done for at least four weeks after you have the Microblading completed. These treatments can impact the pigment and make your eyebrows change color or shape.

Your PMU Artist will never cover a mole or birthmark without having medical proof that these areas are being monitored. Since moles and similar birthmarks pose a risk for cancer and should be monitored for color changes, it is not in the best interest of anyone to have these areas tattooed over.

That will depend on each individual situation. In most cases, if the eyebrows are still very dark, you can have the area lightened enough to have new brows created. If the area has faded enough and the skin is not damaged, the area can be re-tattooed.

Your permanent makeup artist will have to make an individual assessment and give you the options available based on your particular needs.

Yes. Eyebrow tattoos are not placed deep enough in the skin to affect hair follicles. Your hair will grow exactly like it did before you had the eyebrow tattoo.

You should avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure for the first seven days after you have had Microblading or Ombre Powdered Brows. Direct exposure to sunlight can cause damage to the pigment. This includes using tanning beds.

Additionally, when you do start tanning again, it is recommended that you put a very strong SPF sunscreen on your eyebrows to protect them and consider using a hat while at the beach. This will give you the most protection from fading.

In a sense, Ombré Brows are tattoos because they involve placing pigment under the skin. However, they are a very modern form of tattooing because they do not go as deep into the skin as a normal tattoo and do not use the same type of ink. Ombré tattooing uses a powder instead of liquid ink.

Ombré brows are semi-permanent tattoos. They last an average of 2 to 5 years based on your skin type, exposure to the sun, the color of the tattoo, and other lifestyle factors.

The application of Ombré Brows has been described as virtually pain-free when the numbing cream is used in the brow area. Most people have reported feeling the pressure of the machine that does the tattooing, and that is it.

Compared to Microblading, most people state that Ombre Tattooing is the least discomforting of the two types of permanent eyebrow techniques.

After your initial brow session, you will have a 7-14 day healing period. During that time, you are encouraged to do the following:

– Sleep on your back

Sleeping on your face can interrupt the healing process of your eyebrows. When your face rubs against the pillows or sheets, you could interrupt the pigment that is in your eyebrows. Little micro hairs on your sheets and pillowcases may also tug at the newly healed skin. It is best to sleep on your back until your eyebrows are healed.

– Keep Eyebrows Dry

Keep your eyebrows dry for the entire healing process. You will have to keep them dry when you are showering as well. If they do become a little wet, quickly blot them dry with a soft towel or tissue. Excessive water can fade or distort the pigment when you are healing.

– Avoid All Makeup

Avoid using any makeup until your eyebrows are healed. Remember, all makeup has pigment or tinting in it to even out your skin tones or to add color. You do not want the pigment from your makeup to mix with the pigment healing in your eyebrows. To avoid this from happening, do not use any makeup at all while you are healing.

– Do Not Scratch

As your eyebrows heal, they will become itchy. It is just a normal thing to happen when any skin abrasion heals. You must refrain from scratching, picking, or otherwise disturbing the skin. All of this can impact the pigment. Tap your eyebrows with the tips of your fingers if they are itchy; this generally helps.

You should conduct research on the makeup artist just like you would do for any other procedure that you want to be done. Look at their portfolio, read reviews, check their credentials. Look for a makeup artist that specializes in the type and style of eyebrows that you want to be done so that you get the best results.

Most permanent makeup artists recommend that you have a followup session for your eyebrows between 6 and 8 weeks after your initial treatment. At this time, your eyebrows have completely healed, and you will be able to see if there are any shading issues, variations in pigment, or touch-ups that need to be completed.

If you do need some adjusting to the eyebrows the fees are generally much less than your initial treatment.

Even though a follow up treatment will not be as intense as the initial eyebrow tattoo, make sure that you still follow all of the after care guidelines for your touch up so that the eyebrows heal correctly.
